Besides being a coffee expert and barista school manager, Gabriele is also a professional runner. He comes from a small village in the Tuscan mountains where he lived until moving to Florence in his 20’s to be part of the sporting club as a long distance runner. After a few years as a professional runner, he started to show interest in the world of food & beverage. Gabriele has worked in many restaurants and bars starting from waiter to bartender, barista, restaurant manager and consultant. In 2006 he started to collaborate with the “Mokaflor” roasting company, and after learning about this fascinating world started his blog “aprireunbar.com”. In addition to the blog, Gabriele created the website “ilcaffeespressoitaliano.com” which gives the public excellent knowledge about the coffee world, and followed with a book by the same name.
In 2012 Gabriele started a collaboration with Italian coffee company “Simone” and opened a barista school in Florence known as “Espresso Academy”. Gabriele is fueled by his passion and love for coffee, whilst being an excellent teacher full of knowledge of this intriguing world.
